PS/MS 280 MTSS Framework

PS/MS 280’s Multi‑Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) is a schoolwide framework designed to ensure every student receives the right level of academic and behavioral support at the right time. Grounded in early identification and data‑driven decision‑making, MTSS at PS/MS 280 uses universal screeners across all grade bands to monitor student progress and pinpoint areas of need. The school implements a three‑tier structure: Tier 1 provides strong, differentiated core instruction for all students; Tier 2 offers targeted small‑group interventions for students who need additional support; and Tier 3 delivers intensive, individualized interventions for the few students requiring the highest level of assistance. Across ELA and math, PS/MS 280 aligns high‑quality curricula—such as Fundations, HMH Into Reading, EL Education, EnVision 2.0, Phonics for Reading, REWARDS, and Sound Sensible—with diagnostic tools like Acadience, iReady, and TOSWRF to ensure interventions are precise and effective. This structured, responsive approach reflects the school’s commitment to helping every learner grow, thrive, and reach grade‑level expectations.
