PS/MS 280's Annual Math Museum
PS/MS 280’s Math Museum is a joyful, schoolwide celebration of math learning, transforming classrooms and hallways into vibrant galleries of student creativity. The event invites families to walk through K–8 spaces filled with hands‑on projects, colorful displays, and interactive exhibits that showcase the math skills students have built throughout the year. From large‑scale sculptures to themed bulletin boards and table‑top investigations, each class contributes something unique, turning the school into a lively showcase of problem‑solving, reasoning, and imagination. The Math Museum highlights not only what students know, but how proudly and confidently they can share their mathematical thinking with others.
Juneteenth
Juneteenth is a special day that celebrates freedom. It marks June 19, 1865, when the last enslaved people in the United States were finally told they were free. For kids, Juneteenth is a time to learn about fairness, courage, and the importance of treating everyone with respect. Families and communities celebrate with music, food, stories, and activities that honor African American history and culture. It’s a joyful reminder that freedom is something everyone deserves and should be celebrated together.
